EnCompass works with USAID’s Office of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GenDev) to update, deliver, and evaluate a blended learning program comprising four courses for USAID staff in Washington and at USAID missions worldwide:

  1. Achieving Development Objectives through Gender Integration (the “ADS 205 Course”) builds USAID staff capacity to operationalize the Agency’s policy related to gender equality in the Program Cycle. This policy is codified in Automated Directives System (ADS) 205, “Integrating Gender Equality and Female Empowerment in USAID’s Program Cycle.”
  2. Integrating Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response (the “GBV Course”) invites USAID staff to reflect on how to prevent, mitigate, and respond to gender-based violence. Staff learn to apply a personal and a programmatic lens by exploring gender-based violence prevention and response in one or more programmatic sectors (agriculture and food security, crisis and conflict management, economic growth, education, energy and infrastructure, global health, and/or rule of law).
  3. ADS 205 and GBV Hybrid Course (the “Hybrid Course”) was developed for missions that have expressed interest in both courses but lack time or funding to take advantage of each one independently.
  4. Gender Integration Training of Trainers Course (the “TOT Course”) responds to increasing demand for the other three courses by building the capacity of USAID staff to facilitate or co-facilitate the courses. This course emphasizes having participants deliver the sessions, receive feedback, and engage in self-assessment.

This work is conducted under the ADVANTAGE IDIQ.
