USAID ADVANTAGE Gender Learning Strategy

Project dates: 2017-2018

Client type: U.S. Government

Key topics: Gender and Inclusive Development, Learning and Capacity Strengthening

Related Country(ies):

Region: Global

EnCompass partnered with the USAID’s Office of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GenDev) to develop an Agency-Wide Gender Learning Strategy under the ADVANTAGE IDIQ. The Strategy will provide a roadmap for USAID staff to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to advance the Agency’s development outcomes in gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Building on GenDev’s existing resources, EnCompass conducted interviews and constructed an inventory of the current learning courseware and resources to help USAID staff identify needs and gaps in integrating gender into programming. The strategy determined promising practices related to gender integration from other U.S. government agencies, international donors, and NGOs. These activities will inform curriculum recommendations, the creation of learning paths, and a recommended approach for collaboration and integration with other learning providers and programs.
