Evaluation of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM)-Supported Initiatives on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support

Project dates: 2021-2022

Client type: U.S. Government

Key topics: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research

Related Country(ies): Global

Region: Global

The Evaluation of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM)-Supported Initiatives on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support project will examine the impact of PRM-supported initiatives to address and integrate into broader programming for the mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) needs of PRM populations of concern (i.e., refugees, internally displaced persons, stateless persons, conflict victims, and vulnerable migrants). This 10-month evaluation will inform recommendations on how to strengthen effectiveness of MHPSS activities and ways to better integrate MHPSS into general PRM-funded humanitarian assistance. This will be done through in-depth case studies in global sites. The findings of the evaluation will inform the development of the Bureau’s MHPSS strategies moving forward. This is our first opportunity to support the PRM Bureau within the United States Department of State (DoS).

This evaluation will help the DoS to strengthen the mental health and psychosocial support of refugees and migrants around the world. We are excited to continue our long-standing relationship with the DoS and branch into MHPSS, an important and emerging, albeit often overlooked, component of humanitarian assistance.

The PRM MHPSS project is a task order under Performance Management and Evaluation Services (PMES) IDIQ contract.
