In case you missed it, we have just posted a recording from the recent Eval4Action Europe regional consultation, facilitated by our CEO/CFO, Tessie Catsambas. This virtual discussion featured priorities for Europe’s participation in this global campaign, sponsored by UNFPA, which calls for commitments to accelerate achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ms. Catsambas has facilitated similar sessions in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Eval4Action’s Global Launch. The Europe regional consultation featured a rich discussion on how evaluation can help ensure a transformative recovery from COVID-19, one that addresses the crisis, reduces risk from future potential crises, and relaunches the implementation efforts to deliver the 2030 Agenda and SDGs during the Decade of Action. Specifically, participants asked each other:
- What is the role of Voluntary Organizations for Professional Evaluation, or VOPEs?
- What competencies do evaluators in the region have to face this challenge?
- What can we learn from other regions to work globally on the transformations we desire?
The recording from this consultation is available on our YouTube channel and linked below.
Continuing Our Commitment to the Future of Evaluation
EnCompass’ Eval4Action commitments include supporting our colleagues around the world who are using evaluation to support progress toward the SDGs that will support a better future for all. As part of that support, the EnCompass Learning Center (ELC) is offering scholarships to selected EvalYouth members and others who represent the future of evaluation.
These young and emerging evaluators bring an incredible diversity of experiences and ideas to our classes and we look forward to learning alongside them in the weeks and months ahead. Coming soon, our blog will feature reflections from some EvalYouth members who have received ELC scholarships. To learn more about ELC offerings and special events, please join our mailing list.
